Back to Black is so worth it

Miss me? I thought so.....
I just had to blog the "Back to Black" event which provides information and guidance on mental health issues and illnesses as well as some awesome shopping. The event is sponsored by Chic and Keira Seerose.
Keira pored her heart out on the Chic site (link in name above) and I was so touched. I have had so many things happen this past year that have absolutely devastated my life. Mental illness comes in so many forms and can be completely debilitating. I recently had a stillbirth at 5 months and it just about broke me, and a month later I had to watch my father wilt away. He died of cancer and I took care of him at home until the end. I can say now that it was the single hardest thing I have ever done and I know I am a stronger person due to it. I am still hurting, I will always miss my little boy and my dad. I have gone through more emotions in less then a year then most do in a lifetime, and for a long time I thought I was not going to make it...that it wasn't worth the pain, but it can get better. It WILL get better. I want anyone who happens to read this to know there are people who understand, and you can make it through, just keeping putting one foot in front of the other.

Hello Hello! Oh how I miss SL! The constants of the real world have kept me very busy and unable to do anything much SL related for quite some time, but alas I am back if not for a moment to bring you a colorful post and some rad stuff.
Bah, any who...Summer is coming thank god, the weather here in Ohio has been crazy. The night before last I was scrambling to rescue my potted plants outside from golf ball sized hail, it was flippin crazy, I thought every window in my tiny house was going to shatter. Have a few hood dents and a broken pot to show for it, I've never seen hail that big in my life!
Also just got back in from Michigan, needed to spend a few days in Detroit, my father is ill with cancer and I expect to be going again soon. Being there again makes me so melancholy, all those buildings on every corner brooding, empty and cold. Some as big as 10 stories or more. If there is truly a city of broken dreams and hardship it is Detroit.

Hello again my fantastical readers, been a while eh? RL is taking up more and more of my time. I have been working for the man baby, and at over forty hours a week I find I have little time for Second Life as of late. So my friends and you know who you are..... I am sorry, I love and miss you very much and hopefully things will get a bit better soon.
On to SL related things, I had the chance to log for a bit today before work and snap some pics of what I scored today, some awesome swag from the new releases at Surf Couture and let me tell you they are the bees knees. the work is absolutely impeccable on every piece, so if you have yet to check out the latest releases do it! Also sporting a favorite limited skin from L. Fauna, not sure if its still available or not but do check out the new skins, I know I have gushed about these skins but they are by far some of the most unique and delicate skins around the grid. The hair is sooooo flippin simple and cute from the wonderful Toast Bard and the head band even changes colors. The shoes are a new release from Atomic and are so well made, the texture is grand and the little bows change color, hot damn I love scripts! The necklaces from Paper Couture and Pacadi Jasha tied the whole look . Well that's about it, now off to bed before I fall asleep at the board.

Hello my dears, once again I bring to you a rambling off topic post. I start out with intentions to write about the wonderful world of SL, but all to often I start into the not so wonderful world of REAL life. So keeping to form I will start by rehashing my RL. Christmas is just days away and I have been scrambling to buy everything for everyone, I am always the true last minute shopper, I am quite sure I will be shopping on Christmas eve. this brings me to being accosted by a makeup lady at my local department store for carrying around perfume in the store that I had every intention to buy, this after waiting 15 minutes in line. I wanted to tell her to take that bottle and shove it, well you know, but I kept my mouth shut and and bought the damn perfume, my mother needs it by god. I say "For Shame!" makeup lady ! This year has been an off year for me, Christmas has lost its magic, I don't know if that is due to me getting older (26), or so much consumerism is being shoved down my throat that I am gagging on it. Consume I did, am doing and will continue to do. Long live capitalism! My message dear friends is to hold tight to the ones you love, enjoy those people as much as possible, and never forget that life is fleeting. Enjoy YOUR life to the fullest and remember that love is the best thing giving or got and will always be the most important.
On to SL, I am forging the green and red, Ive seen enough of it to last me till April, now for some color, and a big thanks to all the designers and their grand gifts!

Hello my darlings, I am so stoked to show you my wonderful new acustion of the new Launa Fana A.K.A Chai skin line! I whom never have any good luck actually won a preview pack on the new line to share with you all. I remember when I was new to SL and found the Chai skins, I think someone passed me a LM cause they felt bad for my noob ass, and I was floored by Launa's skins, they were so beautifull! Let me just say that some things get better with age and the Lapine line defiantly show this, the new Lapine line is a much more whimsical and soft approach compared to the Chai line and I am loving it. the shading is bar none awesome and the skins have a all over very soft and youthful look, they come with freckles or non and a hot cleavage option which I have shown. I love, love, love them! thanks Launa I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present! Side note , Launa is going to have a skin for 50L Friday this week! Also there arent any demos out or even a shop for people to go to at the moment, so Friday is the first day you should be able to grab the new line.
On to the clothes! This cape I fell in love with by Milk motion, I based my whole first look just on that cape, the textures are grand and I love the old english feel...The whole look makes me feel 1920's vintage English explorer? Bahaha anyways I thought it was cute.
The second look I wanted to do a one eighty and go a bit smexy on you, retro themed as well with a lot more skin showing..Yay for clevage!

Hello again my loveys, Im gonna try not to type to many words as I am in a bleak mood today. I warn you now if you don't want to hear me whine do skip to the pic's.
Bah, what a week..... I must have bitched slapped karma at some point cause I am getting it back ten fold. The worst, other then just how much I want to go postal at work and drive my shears into someone, (I do hair...yesh, although someone asked me if I was a dog groomer the other day...ahem) is my less then a year and a half old computer just stopped turning on. I would get this weird orange blinking light on the front face and then bam...it would die. This is a XPS 720 right, not cheap, and the warranty just expired about 4 months ago. Now after many post thread reads, diagnostic checks and all that other fun stuff I find out that the problem is a effin MOTHERBOARD power issue....aka my sweet XPS is about to become one expensive paper weight. So I am freaking out, I am thinking Dell will surely replace and or fix this right? I am still making payments on it..nope have to have a warranty, then I find out that this is a common issue with this certain XPS, and dell will do nothing if they found that you extend your warranty if they know its the mother board...for example if I would have called and or talked to the tech peeps at Dell they would not have sold me a warranty and I would be up the river. So I am thanking god that I didn't and hoping that the warranty will make everything good. We all can dream....meanwhile I am fighting to get it powered up, when it works.

P.S. Dell you can suck it! Oh and your tech guys don't know jack, your warranty is complete shite!!Thanks for selling me a computer that should have been recalled for over a grand, then covering your ass when A LOT of people with a 720 have motherboard power issues soon after their warranties expire. Really have a Merry Christmas...hope you are on the top of the naughty list you chuds.

Hello all, long time no post. My RL has been crazy this month, working a lot and all the other fun stuff that comes with being a "Grown up". Sometimes I wish I could be like Tom Hanks in "Big" and just turn back into a kid, no worries, no bills....just freedom. This brings me to my post, I just felt like being casual today, no frills or high end shiz, just a simple look with a few new favorites of mine. First the boots, and they are so cute! They are from TOSL and come in lots of colors, they are something I would totally buy and wear the shit out of in RL. Actually this whole look is so reflective of what I wear day to day, I am not a heels and dress type of gal, funny since I have to dress formal for work, perhaps that's why I felt like blogging it on my day off. Cozy simple stuff. I am wrapped in a blanket downing coffee in my PJ's as I type. The weather here is finally turning cold, and I am feeling so lazy, I just want to snuggle and watch movies all day. OK, back on topic the hair, from Love Soul is so flirty and hot, I really dig it. I to am sporting sling bob and love this take on it. The scarf is a dollaribe from Viva La Glam there are many others ones for a steal, I do miss the jeans from this designer tho, they are still a fav of mine and I wish she would make more. The pants are adorable along with the cardigan and undershirt. Well that's about it. Time to re watch "The Brothers Bloom".

Who Knew?

Hello all, I have a day off...yesh! So I am using my time wisely and zoning on SL. The RL will come later in the form of house cleaning, cooking and performing many other domesticated duties. Needless to say I am putting that off as long as possible. My life has been a crazy ride this week, my sis had a baby Tuesday, and I have been working a new job as well so I haven't been logging as much as I normally do, and with Halloween around the corner.....well, going to be a busy ride. I am so excited to do my Halloween post, has to be my absolute favorite time of the year. A friend of mine is in the special effects business and its always great to see what he comes up with. With more and more of the talented EFX artists out there being pushed out of jobs with the rise in computer animated effects, a lot of them are doing utterly amazing halloween props, masks, costumes and the like. So when you see something really awesome in the store or on the streets this weekend, really stop to appreciate it as art. Also did you know that next to Christmas Halloween is the most profitable time of year? So go and consume, and above all be safe when you toilet paper the annoying neighbors with the barking dogs.

OK, sorry tend to babble...oh one more thing. I saw this post via my Plurk from http://juicybomb.com/2009/10/27/disclosure/ and it got me to thinking. I have never in my short period as a blogger ever gotten a review copy, free item from a designer or anything of the like. I know my blog is most likely read by maybe 3 peeps so I understand why. It's all common business sense, the designer sends popular blogger review copies and the blogger post them, then bam! Instant publicity for item. I see nothing wrong with this at all. but you dear readers should know that every thing I ever post I have bought with my own moneys, and if it is a freebie, I post it because I really dig it. I only post stuff I really love, simple as that. I do get tired of seeing the same items from 10 diff blogs, but still enjoy reading the posts. And let me tell you, I will buy something I haven't seen blogged and then get ready to post, only to find someone has been quicker to do it then myself, it can be a bit frustrating and it is hard to come up with things that are not on the feeds already. So if any of you have a store or brand you heart and never see it blogged leave me a comment and I will check it out. Of course as I said I only blog stuff I really dig, so I may not like the place, but no harm no foul right? looking forward to hearing from you!

Well you all may have noticed my OCD kicked in once again and I changed my blog theme..the other one just would not let me post big enough pics for my taste. Why did I not go with Word press? *sigh*. Of course when I changed the damn template all my pics were just awful, so I had to erase all my past posts. My luck eh? For the love of god why!!!!
Anywho It has finally arrived, the Designers United event is on! I was waiting with baited breath and saving lindens for weeks and I certainly was not disappointed! Now I know, I know....this stuff has been blogged from here till next Tuesday before it even started and I am sorry to put all my fine readers through another blog about it, but dammit I don't get previews or gifts or anything of that sort, I get it all the same as you dear reader.
